Betty Martini Says Good-bye to the Webmaster of DORway

On 22 November 2003, Dave O. Rietz, webmaster of DORway passed away: Read Mission Possible founder Betty Martini's good-bye to Dave, Mission Possible South Carolina's diligent leader.

Who Is Betty Martini?

Betty Martini is the founder of the worldwide volunteer force, Mission Possible International, which is committed to removing the chemical aspartame from our food. This poison has brought more complaints to the American Food and Drug Administration than any other additive and is responsible for 75 percent of such complaints to that agency. From 10,000 consumer complaints FDA compiled a list of 92 Symptoms, including death. They used to mail this list out, but now you can't get the list without a congressman or Freedom of Information Act request. She was also a friend to David. O. Rietz. Read Betty's Bio ...

What is Mission Possible?

Mission Possible is an Atlanta, Georgia-based organization founded and run by Mrs. Betty Martini. Since 1993 Martini has worked ceaselessly to spread the word that aspartame is a toxic poison unfit for human consumption ... a slow neurotoxin that is especially bad for diabetics. Many of the letters, news releases, and messages she has initiated and assembled can be found here at DORway, to be downloaded and disseminated as you see fit. Bettty has been commended for her tireless activism and has earned the respect of her peers and notable experts, such as Dr. H. J. Roberts. Read more about Mission Possible and Betty Martini ...

What is the purpose of the DORway Internet Web site?

To educate the public on all aspects of the substance generically known as "aspartame," a fake sweetening agent created in part by using genetically-engineered E-coli bacteria. This substance, currently in over 9000 products worldwide, poisons a wide range of products many of them aimed at children and even infants. Especially crucial to public awareness is the FDA compiled list of 92 symptoms of poisoning.

The "DORway to Discovery!" Web site was created in September of 1996 as a not-for-profit site dedicated to informing the public about the many unhealthy aspects of aspartame (a.k.a. Equal, Nutrasweet, Spoonful, Equal Measure, Benevia, Joe Sweet, Nutrataste, ???). It was created out of frustration, stemming from the inability to motivate elected officials, government officials and the media/medical system to inform the public and to effect the removal of this substance from the human food chain. The goals of this Web site are:

• Search for new and informative documentation relating to aspartame
• Search for attitudes, actions and reactions of involved organizations and people
• Disseminate factual and accurate HISTORICAL information on aspartame and related subjects (MSG)
• Disseminate factual and accurate CURRENT information on aspartame
• Disseminate personal accounts of victims of aspartame poisoning
• Disseminate links to other concerned organizations and citizens
• Disseminate information concerning books on aspartame and related subjects
• Promote public awareness that aspartame was never, and cannot be proven "safe"
• Promote public awareness that aspartame is NOT an effective DIET aid
• Promote public awareness that the FDA provides 92 acknowledged symptoms of aspartame poisoning (one being death).
• Promote public awareness that the FDA admits aspartame is the "most complained about substance" (until the fake fat Olean/Olestra)
• Promote public awareness that aspartame, alone or in concert with other substances, may be the cause of one or more of their health problems
• Promote public awareness that Neotame, Monsanto's new chemically tweaked version of aspartame, cannot be better then aspartame
• Promote public awareness that aspartame should never have been approved for human consumption
• Promote public awareness aspartame MUST be removed from the human food chain
• Promote public awareness Neotame must NOT be approved for use in the human food chain
• Assist Mission Possible International in its goal to affect the FDA recall of aspartame
• Assist Mission Possible International in its goal to prevent similar tragedies

DORway and over 80,000 other anti-aspartame sites, are breaking down one of the greatest myths in Americ - that aspartame is a safe sweetening agent and useful weight loss product. This and similar sites are establishing a stance against aspartame, and the tens of billions of dollars spent in propaganda activities promoting aspartame is safe, desirable and useful activities:

• Ceaseless anti-aspartame activities
• Educate the public on aspartame and MSG.
• Invite public discussion and promote live and Internet forums
• Provide a library of information to any interested parties regarding the effects aspartame has on the body.

What You Don't Know About Aspartame Can Hurt You

If a product is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and composed of "natural" ingredients, would you assume it is safe to consume? If the same product is an artificial sweetener, would you assume it helped control weight? Millions of people use aspartame, the artificial sweetener known as NutraSweet, with these assumptions in mind. Aspartame can be found in thousands of products such as diet soda, yogurt, and over-the-counter medicines to name a few. However, aspartame's tainted history of approval and potentially toxic ingredients cast a serious doubt on the safety of this sugar substitute. Furthermore, aspartame may actually increase your appetite (Farber 52).

While FDA approval may signal the green light for safe consumption, 85 percent of all complaints registered with the FDA are for adverse reactions to aspartame, including five reported deaths (The Deadly Deception la). A closer look at the unscientific studies, suspicious approval methods, and its harmful ingredients, reveal the hidden dangers of this artificial sweetener. In reality, aspartame poses a public health threat. Let's examine the following three myths to conclude why you should avoid aspartame: first, FDA approval means aspartame is safe to consume; second, natural ingredients imply "not harmful"; and third, it helps control weight gain. Aspartame May Cause Seizures In Pilots

For years Mission Possible has concentrated on a growing number of areas concerning the substance called aspartame. During 1996 the TV program Hardcopy featured two pilots who came forward and told their stories of having seizures while piloting commercial aircraft. Those were seizures that had ruined their careers and cost them their means of livelhhood. Seizures and flying don't mix well. However, despite the fact that aspartame was the cause of those seizures and the cause was eliminated, the fact that a specified pilot DID have a seizure was all that matters.

The TV program Hardcopy aired two segments on this subject in late October of 1996, and again in late December, 1996. Over the past several months, as the truth about the toxicity of aspartame becomes better known by the aviation oriented population, more and more case histories are coming to light. Read more ...
