The Great MySpace Migration

It used to be that both readers and writers were relegated to cyber communities like Prodigy and AOL (in the early days) – forums sans graphics or photos. We were faceless friends joined together by a common interest. Books. For the most part, it was perfectly OK, because these communities were built upon the one thing we all loved. Words. That, and our kindred spirits.
These days, the Information Superhighway (a term that dates me), is a changed expressway. Communities like MySpace and Facebook not only connect us, they provide us a way to express ourselves in ways other than words. We can post photos, update our statuses and keep in touch from our mobile phones.
It’s no surprise that so many authors are making MySpace their space. I’m no exception. It’s just a great way to stay connected. Although I’m holding on to my little corner of the Web, I plan to weave the MySpace/Web space experience so that each serves their unique purpose. Check out my MySpace for photos and connections to other MySpace authors.
